December List

Mail Christmas Cards

Following last year’s debacle due to post office negligence, my cards are addressed and almost ready to go out on Dec 1. I must add a few flourishes because a printed card and stamp is boring.

Mailed, with extra postage again. The clever faux wax stamp stickers that were my final flourish necessitated hand canceling - insert eye roll.

Candles in the Windows

Batteries are arriving today, so I’m on track to have them in the windows by December 1. The first night was a failure. How can flickering lights penetrate closed eyelids? ALL NIGHT LONG!!

Problem solved; I’d forgotten about the remote with the time selections. I was too lazy to collect them all and have them turn on at once so now they come on and go off one window at a time. I’m betting that I’m the only one that notices.

Decorate the Tree

I’d be well underway, except I have ladder police on site. I'd be fine if he’d go away long enough for me to find one of MY ladders and get it in the house. For heaven's sake, it’s not like I’m tripping around the house. UGH! As it stands, I get the “I’ll help you tomorrow” that began on Thursday, now noon on Sunday.

Hmm, does my helper read this? The next day, he graciously assisted with the decorations, and the tree was fabulous. I see a silly reel on Insta showing a wife hauling a ladder that says “8 seconds after asking my husband for help”. I must admit to being that ridiculously impatient.

Stocking Stuffer Shopping

I’ve finished Lisa’s stocking shopping. I aim to wrap it up and mail it by the end of the week. I have a great dent in Kat and Kejjy’s stockings. Brandon and Brady’s are a tad light - but not by much.

A shopping trip is scheduled for Thursday. Our day was rained out and rescheduled for the next week. I’ve completed shopping and have a mountain awaiting wrapping.

Christmas Music Daily

I need to fluff my Christmas playlists. I’m tired of the same old people singing the same old songs. My December ringtone is Bruce Springsteen singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” I like his pace.

Spend a Day in Jammies Watching Movies

This is the one that will prove to be a challenge for me. I’m not much of a TV watcher. I may save this for the day after the sproodles leave, which coincides with Jim’s birthday. He was a huge movie watcher - the more I think about it, the more I like the idea to celebrate him.

I missed my target date due to a late pick-up. Tomorrow is a Tuesday with absolutely nothing on the schedule - it may be a good day for wrapping and movies.
