January Faves

Daily Faves

  1. The Sunrise. It was a gorgeous sunrise this morning, vibrant dark pink puffy clouds against an otherwise clear sky. It was a fabulous beginning to a new year.

  2. Living the Beautiful Life Today, I made a part of my everyday routine a little extra. I added a citrus shower steamer and creamy body wash to the clean-up. I followed that with a moisturizing sheet mask while listening to the Daily Calm meditation.

  3. Roxy found a new home. A couple going through a rough time (their adult son has cancer) needed a dog to love. After detailing Roxy’s pros and cons, they wanted to give her a chance. So a bathed and fluffed Roxy left me to be their comfort. I hope Roxy pays attention to the talk I gave her and gives them much-needed cuddles.

  4. Skipping ahead. The flu necessitated a break, so a recap of the days is in order. My sweet son took such good care of me and the dogs. He thought of every possible need I might have and made a great effort to care for my ungrateful beasts.

  5. Roxy update. The little stinker is the perfect dog. I realize that’s what I’d hoped for; however, I feel slightly betrayed. She’s sleeping through the night, not chewing anything, and going for car rides. I’m grateful because now I don’t miss her. LOL

  6. Comfy and entertained. Following my bout with Covid, I purchased a recliner, and I’m so grateful because it was the perfect spot to plant and ride out my queasiness. Streaming T.V. and NCIS kept my mind distracted and entertained - yay for technology.

  7. Suggestions for improvement. Following my few days of incapacitation, my caregiver gave me some helpful suggestions to improve the situation in the future. I will take the tips for making clear dog feeding and care plans and implement as many as possible. Will I redecorate my den to include another recliner - no!

  8. My personal Instacart - tip free. I’ve become so accustomed to keeping a running grocery list on Google Keep and texting I’m truly spoiled. At the same time, I’m, again, eternally grateful for the help.

  9. Afternoon coffee, I’m now relegated to old-person decaf for afternoon coffee; alas, It’s better than nothing. Jim and I had a long-standing ritual of having a drink when he got home. We’d take about a half hour to enjoy a drink and share any highlights of our day. Once in a while, we’d take the Mustang out and buy a cuppa. Usually, it was time at home. Brady and I frequently have a little catch-up before we lock up the dogs but it’s never at a specific time, I’ve decided to reinstate the afternoon coffee break.
